At PetSmart, the health and safety of the pets in our care is always our top priority. We take pride in our pet care standards, and our highly trained staff provides expert care while your pet is visiting the salon, playing at camp, learning new tricks in training or staying for the weekend at PetsHotel. Below are the practices we continually follow to maintain a clean and safe environment for pets:
Our safety-certified associates perform pre-screening health assessments on every pet in our salons, hotels and day camps during check-in, check-out and routinely while in our care. This includes observations of critical signs and non-critical signs of stress, such as, repeated coughing/sneezing and difficulty breathing.
Our associates follow regular daily and weekly cleaning practices.
- In our Grooming Salons, all surfaces including grooming tables, kennels, walls, ledges, water bowls, vents, etc., are washed and disinfected at the close of every day, with additional cleaning throughout the day. Kennels are cleaned between occupants.
- All rooms, bowls, toys, play equipment and common areas of PetsHotel are sanitized daily with additional cleaning throughout the day.
- Cleaning and sanitizing all surfaces (walls, floors, etc.) and playrooms every night.
All PetsHotel locations are equipped with Aerapy disinfection systems – a state-of-the-art air purification system exclusively designed for the pet industry – which sanitizes the air using Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation (UVGI) technology.
